Restore & Rejuvenate
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are natural and effective treatments that can help you improve your quality of life. Treatments can be targeted to: relieve pain, improve sleep, increase concentration, plus so much more!
Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It involves the use of thin needles that are inserted in the body at very specific points. This process is understood to adjust and alter the body’s energy flow into healthier patterns, and is used to address a wide variety of illnesses and health conditions.
Cupping is used for painful muscles, general tension, asthma, and even the common cold. Small glass or silicone cups are placed over the large muscles of the back. A vacuum is created under the cup using heat or suction, and the skin is slightly stretched and pulled up into the cup, pulling stagnant blood, lactic and uric acids to the surface layers of the body. This is a popular technique with athletes and weekend warriors.
Tui Na translates to “push and grasp,” and helps to to move qi and blood throughout the body, relieving muscle pain, tension and inflammation by manipulating and stimulating the acupuncture points and the muscle’s connective tissues.
A specialized tool is used to gently scrape the skin over a problem area. The scraping creates a slight irritation on the skin by placing small micro-tears into the affected area. The body is then stimulated to heal that particular area. It’s a similar process to that of cupping therapy, which pulls stagnant blood, uric and lactic acids to the surface, increasing circulation to the area.
