to fuel my body.”
I’d like to begin by telling you a little bit about myself. I’m a real estate appraiser with my family’s company, S & S Real Estate Appraisal Service. Recently, I began a second company in partnership with my brother and father, James Property & Holdings, that buys, sells and rents real estate.
I’m a father of two amazing boys – 13-year-old high-schooler Ethan and 8-year-old third-grader Austin. I’ve played semi-pro football with the Racine Raiders for sixteen seasons, and have been honored over those seasons with many individual awards. However, the biggest accomplishment with the Racine Raiders is the three National Championships that we won in 2001, 2012 and 2014.
I would like to thank Razor Sharp for offering me the Member Spotlight; I am very thankful for this opportunity to tell my story:
My journey began on November 15, 2014. It was a “normal” Saturday night, and I was drunk in a bar, as I often was at that point in my life. However, this night would be very different.
As I stood in the middle of the bar, drunk again, God suddenly started a conversation with me. “Dustin don’t you think this is about enough of this? It’s time to become better.” – God.
Well I can assure you I was as shocked by this conversation as you currently are reading these words. I lose a lot of people at that point of the story, so I hope you’re still with me. What happened next is only explainable by Grace and true blessings from the Lord:
At the beginning of this journey I weighed 297 pounds. I currently weigh 238 pounds and have thoughts of competing in body building and power lifting.
My thanks go to everyone at the club who create this wonderful atmosphere, from the front desk staff, to the SPS Coaches, to all the trainers who are willing to help and, of course, my two favorite ladies, Marianne and Laurie, who always bring a smile to my face.
