Change your mind, change your life...
Call it “outlook” or “attitude” or what you will, how you frame situations can have big implications for what comes next.
Case in point:
A team at Cornell University, led by Dr. Brian Wansink, did a comparative study of people exercising.
One group went for a 2km "exercise walk" around a small lake, then had lunch or a snack (they did this study twice). The other group went for a 2km "scenic fun walk" around the same small lake, then had lunch or a snack. In both instances, those who had been told that they were walking for exercise ate more — specifically more of the dessert/treat items served — than did those told that they were walking for fun or recreation.
Their minds were different, and their cravings, as well as their sense of fatigue at the end, were different as a result.
