Give the artificial sweeteners a rest
It seems topsy-turvy that calorie-free sweeteners might contribute to weight gain. But that’s where some research is pointing. So...what’s the deal?

Right now, the science gives us more questions than answers. What to do?
Well, ideally, drink water when you’re thirsty. Sliced fruit (or veggies) can give it flavor if that’s your thing. Milk still gives an adult body lots of necessary vitamins and minerals.
But, if you really want a diet soda or other artificially sweetened beverage, treat it as a rare treat. And have a healthy snack already available to counter any cravings that may follow.
