Aquatics - Water Aerobics Class Descriptions
Unless otherwise stated, classes are held in the warm water, therapy pool.
Aqua Attack- This high energy, powerful and uplifting class is a fun and effective way to burn calories and build muscles. With a combination of tae box, tai chi, karate and kick boxing, this high intensity class is great for cardiovascular fitness, coordination, muscle control and flexibility. All levels are welcomed!
Aquablast- This advanced, high energy class is designed for those who like a variety of cardiovascular, muscular, endurance and flexibility training while listening to great music of the 60's, 70's 80's, rock n' roll, disco and hip hop. This class will help increase strength, balance, power and range of motion. A tai chi cool down is also incorporated in this class.
Aquabootcamp - This very intense class is designed for those who wish to obtain a full cardiovascular workout, while using the natural resistance of the water to help increase strength, power, endurance, and range of motion. Held in Lap Pool.
Aquasize - Aquasize provides a low-intensity, low-impact workout with a number of different movements aimed at increasing flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular ability.
Intermediate Aquasize - This class varies in intensity levels to increase endurance, as well as power, strength and cardiovascular ability.
Aqua Zumba - This low-impact exercise class is based on the original Zumba classes on land. Aqua Zumba allows you to get a great workout but also makes it fun. Just like the regular Zumba format, Aqua Zumba uses dance and fitness moves to the background of fun, upbeat music. The instructor in this class may demonstrate some new moves on land.
Therapeutic Fitness - This zero-impact, low-intensity class is designed to alleviate the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other related diseases. You will be instructed through exercises to encourage and promote flexibility, range of motion, and pain relief.
Silver Sneakers "Silver Splash" - SilverSplash is Healthyways NEW older adult group water fitness program designed to enhance each individual's quality of life and daily function. SilverSplash utilizes the physical properties of the water to enhance agility, range of motion and cardiovascular conditioning. Instructors will choreograph "water moves" with the SilverSneakers kickboard to develop strength, balance and coordination for a format that is safe, fun and effective. No swimming ability is required for SilverSneakers participants to get wet, be strong and meet new friends in SilverSplash!
